I'm sure this has been discussed on here a bunch before, but we've had some new information come out recently. Does Humminbird's combination of Mega 360 plus Mega Live make it the best option for anglers even though everything is back ordered and Mega Live may not be available to the masses for months?

I currently run some older Lowrance units. I want to upgrade into live technology, and can't decide to pull the trigger right now on Garmin or switch over to Humminbird, get 360 for now, and pick up mega live whenever it becomes available.

For reference, it looks like a 10" Garmin graph and Livescope would run about $3,100. A 10" humminbird Helix with mega 360, and eventually mega live would run about $4,100. What says the forum?

I think Humminbird 360 is in a league of it's own. You can't always see fish that are sucked to the bottom, but you can always see structure and cover with 360. Add Humminbird live to it and you have everything you need.

Wheeler is proof of that. He has 360 AND Active Target.

Walters has 360 AND Livescope.

I am waiting for Mega Live then I will have a new look front deck with 360 and Live.

When Mega Live is released, will you even be able to get your hands on a transducer within a year?

I really feel like if Mega Live was ahead of livescope they would have leaked some pics or videos of it by now.

That's a fair question in my mind. Amazing to me these things are supposed to be hitting the market in the next month or two and very little has been leaked.

Wait for HB live...its so close and its such a large cost, itll be worth it. Cuz i bet itll sting to buy live target or scope for big bucks and then see HB live blow it out the water a few months later.

Plus....HB Live is gonna be the best one. Theres no way its not...just look at their progression. Like someone mentioned above Mega 360 was unreal...not live but all the videos I saw made it seem like "Live Imaging Lite" and then considering their progression through the years and improved clarity/target separation......how could it even be possible that HB will regress?

Now with that said....I would worry about how quickly you can get it in your boat. I dont think we would see leaks necessarily....but im pretty surprised im not hearing rumblings of at least KVD running protos. For how much KVD likes to have the best of the best sponsors (TM switch)....if there was a fishable proto out there, I gotta figure he would be using it. Especially since wheeler hammered them last year and seems like everyone is using live to win....cant imagine KVD staying behind the curve for long. So that would be my only worry, and its just speculative...but may be real.

(Hummingbird Route) is how I am also going, just added Helix G4n with Mega 360. This tied into the Ultrex allows full automation. When the Hummingbird version of Live comes out all will be in one package. Just going to need more screen for all the info.. Newbie with mega 360 but it is flat frickin amazing to see everything.. Oh, so many wasted casts I have made prior..

Good Luck, and keep us updated.

Apparently we all have judging by the amount of post on here but Humminbird has like maybe 5 people who actually have a Mega Live. Can’t compare something when no one has it to use

It’s not gonna blow it out the water but if u already have Humminbird units it will be a nice addition to not having to purchase an additional unit. Garmin is leading the pack.

I am an HB/Garmin guy buy given Dustin Connell won the 2021 MLF Redcrest and $300k with the Lowrance Active Target notch a win for the Lowrance guys.

Live technology is revolutionizing the usage of jerkbaits at least when it comes to winning money.

And seeing the pros opt out of electronic sponsorships to run all brands speaks volumes.
