Fished yesterday from 8-5 & it was really slow...and very windy for most of the day. Took some video but is taking forever to load on One Drive, so plan on maybe posting that later. First of all, as expected the water temp dropped like a rock. Most areas I fished was between 57 & 61 degrees. The discharge was up to 70 degrees, but the intake was at 57 degrees. That tells me their water circulation on the lake is good...doing what it was designed to do. The lake level is still down & did some research on that. The current level is at 389 MSL (MEAN SEA LEVEL) Full pool is 391 MSL. Last year they slowly began bringing the level up in early March & by April it was full...hoping for that again this year. Only caught 8 bass yesterday with "0" in my favorite tree fields & "0" on the rip rap or intake area. Had to concentrate on one of my "super secret spots" from many years ago do to the wind strength and direction. It's really bad when you have to put a filler at the end of a video because you didn't catch enough fish to cover one song...oh well could have been worse...talked to two guys at the end of the day that only had one bass between them all day...

Nice post Steve. This last cold snap has changed some patterns for sure. I fished a local creek this afternoon and caught about 14 nice Bluegill in the 7 and 8 inch range. The biggest was about 8.5". Bite was good. Caught them all between 11:30am and 2pm. I also saw a lot of minnows. Hopefully a good sign for some great creek fishing ahead. thumb

Another awesome Fayette post. Thanks as always for sharing.

During the spring, summer, and early fall, do you ever throw a frog while fishing the reeds?

Curtis...Am I going to have to get you an alarm clock ? stir
Tom...I have not used a frog, but have seen lots of videos where they do use them on Fayette by the reeds with a lot of success.

Thanks Vogey. Back in the day I have thrown many of frog around those reeds. Fayette has always been a good bass lake.

Side Note: Not to mention Fayette is one heck of a sunfish lake also. Will not be long before the sunnies start getting active.
