What weight Jig/Texas rig, do you guy use on KAYAK, fishing drop off 25 FOW?

Today I went out to Point where I caught bass yesterday, this time with my kayak to really see what under there. Turn out it is a drop off from 5-10 FOW to 25-30 FOW. No wonder yesterday it worked because, I used 3/8 weight jig and hopped up the drop off, today totally different, I hardly felt the bottom with the same jig. Should I up the weight to 1/2oz?

BTW manage to caught one bass in the two hours I spent time paddling around.

Yes, I would personally go to 1/2 oz (with a heavy trailer) for 25' to 30' deep. It will cast further, get down faster and you will feel the bottom better. However, I've been known to throw a 3/8 oz at that depth out of laziness of retying... LOL

I might also try 1/2 oz (or larger) Carolina Rig with a floating lizard at that depth. You can slow the Carolina retrieve down to a crawl while maintaining a lot of action with the floating lizard (or worm or brush hog).
