I know there's a couple on here from tpwd but I think they are game wardens. A few pond management guys as well but not that kind of biologists. Might look up pondboss, Bob Lusk, and ask him this question. I know for sure he knows who you are searching for.

Also might try Dr. Ruth Francis Floyd from The University of Florida's fisheries dpt if she's still there. Spent a decade working with her with necropsies and such. With the vegetation there she would know. Please let me know what you find. fish

Tom Hungerford posts on here every once in awhile. Think he goes by the name Fishnman or something like that. Might try him.

I am a semi retired mailman so I know everything.

Seriously I've read that cold weather does not hurt it that much unless the lakes are low and the exposed salvinia dries out. I hope thats wrong.

It will knock it back quite a bit but not kill it from what I read the other night.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Acute-exposure studies found that -16C for 48 hours could destroy giant salvinia, with ice formation as an important factor in below-freezing temperature events.

Just as soon we did not go to 48 hours of below 3.2 degrees F just to kill the giant salvinia, make sense now?
