Here's the deal - if you're depending on the local, state, or federal government to take care of you in an unprecedented cold spell, you should prolly take inventory of yourself and come up with some better plans. I'm glad that people in the govt feel like they can do something to help but I dang sure wouldn't put my trust in that as a way forward for myself.

I don't expect anyone to take care of me or my family. I do, however, expect the governor and legislators to hold ERCOT responsible for their failure to hold the people in charge of the power generators responsible. This should have been avoided, but instead of correcting the issues we learned about in 1989, they kicked the can down the road. They also need to hold the people at PUC responsible for this emergency rate increase. Ridiculous.

Has stood me well for my 62 years.

There is a guy in Joshua that has been giving away firewood to those in need. Doesn't ask for money, but if they insist on giving it to him he's donating it to the local food pantry. He's organized several people to cut wood, split it and some are delivering it. That's what it's about.
