Reminds me of when I lived in Maine. One of many reasons I left.

Climate change is the better word. It is very real. It basically means there are more and more extremes and records broken due to weather that is not normal. 100 year floods, droughts, arctic blasts, etc..

It boggles the mind that man can change the history of a planet that has seen cyclical changes for millions of years.
All depends on who you listen to, arguments on both sides.

The Climate changes every 4 season...Winter, Fall, Summer and Spring.. Here in Texas we have two Hotter than HeII or colder than a well diggers azz..

if only one thing has been proven during this last big cold blast is the the green energy of solar panels an windmills are worthless when you have cold with snow an ice .

The reason here in Texas we have no electricity is because we are on our on grid that decided this back ww1 days its called ecrot they can't get the natural gas and oil refinerys up and running they are frozen

I used to live in Maine as well. Had some awesome days ice fishing with friends.

Had the worse case of heartburn in my life while ice fishing in maine, guy asked me how his chili stacked up to my 2 time La state champion and runner-up world champion step-dads chili i threw it out and tokd him not to eat it if he wanted to live. Think i only had a cpl spoonfuls too.

Trouble is the coal plants had issues as well. Having a grid unique to Texas is wrought with peril. I get not wanting the regulations, but if we were on the west grid we could have pulled power from other areas. It's all good until it's not. We need electricity from multiple sources. Ercot better figure a way to guarantee minimum levels of power during inclement weather before dismantling the rest of these coals plants. Trouble is they aren't as cost effective as wind or natural gas so Luminant can't compete with them. Tough choices to be made for sure. Gates is funding research into a much more cost effective and smaller footprint for nuclear. I just think long term we need multiple options for power so we're not dependent on any one technology.

Ice fishing has as much to do with fishing as Top Golf has to do with golf. Both are about drinking!.....never mind. So does bass fishing in Texas!🤔😜
