The weathermen have underestimated over and over how cold this airmass is, sometimes by 10 degrees for the day. I think if skies stay clear we are headed below zero tonight. We may be on our way to all-time record cold East Texas water temperatures by the time Friday morning gets here. I believe so. I've seen rayburn 44-45 once, after all the freezing rain and low temps it may be lower by Thursday. Does anybody know the lowest been?

7 degrees at my house in Austin at 5 am this morning. Power out since 2:52 am. 5" on snow. Water temps on Travis... I AIN'T EVEN THINKING ABOUT FINDING OUT!!
Come on Randy!! NOPE!!! Finally got power back on about an hour ago. It's 48 degrees in the house and my fat arse is parked in front of the fireplace looking like one of the last Donner party members!

This may be a dumb question, but how low of temp can Large mouth survive in for a week? Until they freeze. They survive under the ice up north. That's my guess anyway

This may be a dumb question, but how low of temp can Large mouth survive in for a week? The bass will be fine. I've caught a lot of big largemouth through the ice when I lived in New Hampshire. What I'm most worried about is the shad kill. We don't have shad in northern lakes because they wouldn't survive the winter. Hopefully there isn't a major die off of our forage base.
