On that note, why do women’s catch weight seem to be lower? Seems when women have a derby their weights are smaller? I’d prolly say no.

It is a numbers game. How many people fish in just your state? Out of that how many fish for bass then how many are men? The number of skilled men pros is so much more than women so it would naturally be a smaller number that might have the ability. If more women get into the sport the odds only get better for them. No other reason that a woman couldn't be as good as any man in fishing. I always wondered why they have to have their own category for tournaments,. No reason for it. That’s just it. The opens are open to anyone man or woman but the women who fished the Classic didn’t get there that way.

except for the couple of years that they allowed a woman from the a womans bass trail to fish the fish the classic,no woman has ever qualified to fish the classic much less won one.......but it might happen in this day and age of allowing transgender men to compete in womens sports.....

It's a matter of time and opportunity. There are some ladies that put in the time and study enough to do it, but there's just not very many of them. I believe there have only been 40 men total to win it from the hundreds of thousands who have tried.

Totally different. If you look at the majority of the field, the average women is fitter, and probably stronger...lol. Women just don't devote the same amount of time to fishing as men usually they are at home taking care of the children.

not for awhile. i still remember working a booth at the Toyota bass fest at Fork when the WPT was still going. they had a casting demo trailer tank and most of those girls couldnt pitch a baitcaster. they would either pull a bunch of line out and throw the lure or use spinning reels.

My point exactly. There are a lot of mechanics that goes into an efficient trip. Even being able to pitch a jig into a cup from across the room doesn't mean you can find fish, position the boat, and put them into the box. I have fished with a a few hundred people over the years and some of them can catch the fish when they get bit but they couldn't run a boat to save their lives. Lots of moving pieces to being a successful angler. Qualifying for the Classic is about 17 levels above that.

Well that turned into a woman driver thing quick. I’m outta here......
