As said above^^^^ I will add a small boot tail swimbait as a trailer if I’m trying to give a large profile to my bait but I have definitely gotten MORE bites using these Zoom twin tail trailers on both spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. I know I'm in the minority here but I do not put a trailer on my bladed jigs most of the time. I feel like it dulls the erratic hunting action of the bait. Try this: Throw the bait out and reel it back steadily with no trailer. Observe the action. Now put your favorite trailer on it and do the same.
The thing that makes the Jackhammer so effective is that it wiggles left to right and then randomly "kicks' out to one side a little further about every 3-4 wiggles. This is why the Pros will pay $30 for special squarebills like the old original Wiggle Warts.
The larger boot-tail trailers dull a lot of this random kick so I don't use them. If I put a trailer on them it is the slim split tail Zoom bait.
If you want to put a boot-tail swim bait on a bladed jig save yourself $10 and buy the Chatterbait Custom or Project Z instead of the Jackhammer.

Exactly the reason I came out with the Blade Aide. Bigger bulkier trailers like paddle tails dull the action of a Jackhammer in my opinion. The tapered body and offset segments of the Blade Aide let it do it’s thing and the trailer dances like crazy.
I saw the Blade Aide on an episode of Honey Hole and it looked good enough to buy a few bags. I’m really looking forward to using them.

In my opinion anything tapered or segmented will work. I also do not like the boot tail on a chatter bait. I use a custom zako style typically. You can buy that exact mold. Custom lamenate your colors, etc.

Blade aide is all I use now. They really compliment the erratic action of the Jackhammers.
