Starting March 1st-November 1st and Holidays, the city will set up there little guard shack just over the Levee and collect your $10.00 per car. This fee is only charged to OUT OF TOWN FOLKS. If you live in TC, you do not have to pay. Residents of TC may pick up a w/s sticker at City Hall to show proof of residence. Entry fees are collected from Friday thru Sunday. IF you out of town folks get on the dike REAL EARLY you can skate paying the fee. Leaving the dike and trying to get back on is another thing!!!!!

It's been a while since I launched there but it's a good jumping off point. Just have to watch out for the ship's wakes. How's vehicle security these days?

i live in Bayou Vista, but pay Texas City school taxes. i thought that would qualify me for the sticker, but no. they said you have to live in TC. i thought the Dyke was a county owned park, but guess not. i got the resident rate at the Lowery Center Gym, so i figured it would be the same for the Dyke.

that is no different than seabrook does with pine gulley park. Or 99% of other municipalities for services to non-residents. Texas City spends a bunch of money to keep the dike less trashed up than it would be without them providing service to all the folks that roll straight through town not spending a dime to go throw sandwich wrappers and poo'ed up baby diapers on the rocks for them to try and keep up with. I have zero issue with people paying for a service that they are using through a fee.

After IKE flattened everything on the Dike, the city/county, did everything they could to fix and replace piers and tore up ramps. Cleaned the beaches, a new First Ladies Pavilion was built , fixed and widen the road, built more beach area, lighting, cleaning stations added, the concrete seating areas, warning signs about ship traffic involving water currents/swimming areas, trash cans installed and regular cleanup. Back then the Mayor told us it would cost $250k a year to keep the 5 1/4 mile stretch clean.I'Mm sure that figure has gone up since then. That's when entry fees began and collected, but only $5.00 a car. For the last few years the fee has gone to $10.00 the last time I was out there. If there has been a change in entry fees, please chime in. Stay safe, dispose of your trash in the blue barrels, watch your children, and go catch some fish.

kinda like the ramp at Louis' at hwy 6 and Highland Bayou. was listed as a county owned free ramp in the easement of Hwy 6 until after Ike. the owners of Louis' spent their money to fix the ramp and bulkhead, so the county lets them charge to launch there now. it's still in the easement of Hwy 6, on county property. Galveston County politics. it was removed from the free county ramp list also.
