Last Thursday I was at a grocery store in Lavon.
I was on my lunch break and heading to Nevada, Tx. to see my parents and take them lunch.
As I was in line, I got to talking with the woman behind me. I could tell we were of "like minds" when it came to America, the President, Christianity, etc.
I was next in line, and I realized I didn't have my wallet.
I quickly the 4 items back in my cart and she "insisted" I take them out.
I said no way, she wasn't going to pay for my items.
She would not let me pass...
I tried over and over to do info exchange, but she refused. I wanted to pay her back in any way I could.
She reminded me of an aunt I used to have.
I actually got choked up talking to her.
The total was about $14, and I do hope I see her again, same place, roughly the same time.
Good people are cherished.

Awesome post! Thanks for sharing. Years back I was told “you’ll meet some of the nicest people at the lake”. So far, it’s been true. Except for a few of those pesky wakeboard peeps.

Great story. Actually, I think there are more like that than we realize. Many will offer whatever help they can, just not often are you lucky enough for it to be a mechanic. Good for him.

Heb 13:2 always come to mind for me when I deal with a stranger. "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing" This is why I don't ask for a payment or any favor when I help someone.

This is so good to hear...
And all this time I thought mostly bad stuff happened at boat ramps ( "meet me at the boat ramp"... husbands cussing their wives cuz she can't back a trailer etc. )

Wow. Surely wasn’t me.
I plan on the worse case scenario. I carry a complete spare hub, greased and ready to go. I’ve been in your situation, without a guardian angel close. I even carry a couple tires in the back of the truck, in case a tire place doesn’t have the same size in stock.
