Well, I have taken a new job in Oklahoma. Moving up on The Grand Lake of the Cherokees. Going to miss Texas, in a bad way. This forum has been good to me. Learned a lot here. But, its a deal I could not pass up. Do any of you have any experience fishing GL? Or know of any good fishing forums up here? I will be back to Texas from time to time. I am a Texas boy at heart.

That's God's country, too, just like Texas is. Congratulations! Grand lake is one of my all time favorite lakes that I've ever fished. I haven't fished it in 20 years. Back then, the lake was loaded with 4-6lbers, and an occasional 7 or 8lber to boot. Not many over 10 are in there, or get caught, anyways. Those fish love SB's and topwaters around docks. They live under docks year round. Tons and tons of deep docks. Find the brushpiles. Honey creek, Duck creek, Horse creek, and Drowning....were my favorites, mid-lake areas. It is one of the most commercialized lakes that I've ever fished. Massive homes and docks everywhere. Expensive, too. Grand is about 25mi away from my place of employment. You'll love it. Again, congrats!

Awesome, we relocated to Grove. Really nice down home people up here. Just about like small town Texas. Thanks for the info.

make sure your shot records are up to date. Better yet might as well have them doubled up.

Lots of brush piles on the lake, north end of lake is chocolate milk, south end is usually 2ft of visibility.

Go up into the Elk River arm. It's beautiful and clear up there.
