Myself and buddy Jeff kayaked the Blanco River in the Hays County area from 10am till 3pm. Water was clear in some areas and stained in others. The fishing was extremely slow. We only caught four fish between us. Three small LMB and one small Guadalupe Bass and that was it. The river was in pretty good shape with a nice current which is a surprise due to the lack of rainfall that this area has been having. Talked to a local who said that the San Marcus area had gotten some descent rain in January and that they could use a lot more. Fish were caught on White/Yellow Rooster Tails and all fish were released to fight again. Will be returning to the Blanco in late spring. woot

Yea I know . I kind of figured that the sunfish bite would be better once the day heated up! Unlike the crappie and the Bluegill that hang with them, they get up at the crack of dawn. hooked

Nice post Curtis. Love the Blanco River. Usually fish that river 12 to 20 times a year including the trout stocking season. thumb

Side Note: Late spring, summer, and fall are great for catching the sunnies on the Blanco . hooked
