When we told him he’d need to donate money to __, he said he would only agree to do it if it was a lot of money. This shows his true character, that word he used doesn’t.

The word itself is not proper or acceptable, however, in my mind, the intent and context of how the words is used should be taken into consideration.

If he had walked up to another man and called them that out of hate.....I say unless he got curb stomped, he got off lightly.

From what I can see, these were the words of a drunken A-Hole cutting up with friends and that does not deserve a ruined career. He should be checked on it, but not cancelled.

There is certainly a double standard concerning the use of some "racial slurs", most of which applies to the "N" word.

It's OK for rappers (called recording artists by some) but not for country music singers (also called recording artists by some, depending on the color of dirt they are standing in) like Wallen. I had no clue who he is so I listened to parts of a few songs on Youtube. He's got the Nashville sound, which explains why I never heard of him.

I'm not condoning what he did or said. I think that word, if considered a slur by some African American folks, should not be used by anybody regardless of the color of their skin.

And the immediate response to cancel out Wallen seems a bit harsh. I don't think any black artist has been canceled for using that word. I don't think any black comedian has been canceled for using that word. And on a different level, the Muslim representative from Michigan, Rashida Tlaib, was not canceled for saying, "Let's impeach the MFer" just after Trump was elected in 2016. That sounds a bit offensive to me, but she's still around.

My take, double standards are OK, depending on who the "offending party" is.
