How beneficial is networking your electronics?

We have a Garmin ECHOmap 93sv UHD at the console and have looked at quite a few different units for the bow. I know that the echomap will only network with other echomaps. My quandary is that we can get a bigger screen if we go with a striker or other unit.

Help me learn

biggest thing for me is my waypoints/mapping sharing between units. Helps me to not have to use a buoy when fishing offshore and be more efficient so I don't have to run back to the console to see where the waypoint is. My other units all have their own dedicated transducer and I run only that transducer on that unit 99.5% of the time.

Get you a 10 or 12inch Ultra.
Network them to share waypoints,transducers,maps.

That's not in the budget. This boat is for fishing high school tournaments and we have about $500 - $700 to spend. Trying to see if I should get the ECHOmap or striker series. Seeing if networking is worth getting the small screen

I like mine networked. It lets me control the radio, PowerPoles, and share waypoints, maps, and brightness settings from any screen.

The radio and brightness settings are really what I like the most.

I have lowrance units with point 1, which are networked. I never realized what a difference it would make and how much easier it would make getting back on what I marked while scanning fro.m the console.
I normally dont fish offshore but right after I got my new boat, which was networked, we went to pickwick for the HS national championship. Without the networking, we would not have been able to find the rock piles and ledges we ended up catching fish on. We'd mark it, run up front and drop the trolling motor and be able to make our first cast right on top of what we marked. Eliminated a ton of blind casting to find the cover.
While we did not finish as high as we would have liked, I truly believe the networking and point1 allowed us a 41st place finish out of 225. Pretty solid considering we truly had no idea of what we were doing, being east Texas junk fishing guys.
I have a 12 at the console and a 9 at the bow.. we would split the screen on the front with 2d and mapping to get back on target. Worked well.
No matter what you choose, if you dont learn how to use it, then it will never be worth the money.

The advantage of networking I think is sharing waypoints.. you run to a spot based on a waypoint at the console.. without having it on the bow you don't know where you are supposed to fish. I don't have that yet, my units are capable but I haven't run the cable yet.. for me it involves drilling a hole in the cap and getting it to my center console.. just been dragging my feet but it needs to happen.

Echomap will not network with Striker.

You don't have to network both units to share weigh points.

For those of us who don’t know, can you tell us how you do that?

I second that request. Also, don't you have to have a scale to weigh points?

Where's this heading?
Do you have a Point-1 in your network that's not networked? Maybe we can make a graph of the grout?
