Never been to this lake is it safe to run? It looks like you can get in the river from google earth. Is that possible in a glass boat?

If you launch at the Chock a Block boat ramp on the northwest end you are in the timber. They do have buoys that mark the channel but they are hard to follow, so be careful up there as there is lots of timber up there. The lake up near the island to the dam is good to run if you stay in the middle.

If you go under the bridge heading to the river Idle all the way. Lots of big stumps just under the water. This is added to what David said.

Retirement best job ever.

I love that lake! That lake rarely loves me! Everything said above^^^^ is spot on. The upper ramp(Chop A Block) is where the Leon River enters. Absolutely you can safely put your glass boat in at Chop A Block and IDLE under the bridge and way up into the river. There’s actually plenty of deeper water on this end also. After you’ve been a couple times you can figure out a few places to get on plane up there but only for short distances. You can also put in by the dam if you are wanting clear running but honestly only the lower 1/2(or 1/3) is wide open and safe to run if you don’t know where. Never been a fan of the dam end. Always been a bit of a river rat. Good luck!
