Hello,
Looking for some suggestions on a staycation type of thing in late March/early April. Ideally would like to find an airbnb type of thing on the water, couple of guided trips for crappie and hybrids/striper. Have a 6 yr old who would love to catch those. Looking for lake suggestions (probably within 2 1/2 hr drive from DFW) and guide suggestions. Thanks!

Check us out at www.gonefishin.biz on Lake Richland Chambers.(1 1/2 hours South of DFW) We specialize in "Family Fishing Fun". The Cabins at the Marina we fish out of may be too small/rustic for you but there are numerous nice BnB's on the Lake. April is AWESOME for Whites/Hybrids on RC and are much easier than the Crappie for a 6 year old to catch. I can email you a couple of Vacation Rentals other Customers have stayed in if you PM or email me at simmonsroyce@hotmail.com. Thanks and good luck!

Uncle Gus's on Whitney is nice. They have several striper guides running out of there. http://unclegusmarina.com/

Royce failed to mention that the restaurant about 50 feet behind the cabins is Excellent food and very reasonable prices, My wife and I have stayed in the cabins several times and while they are pretty small they were clean and pet friendly. Plenty big for us two and our big baby! ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/01/full-43906-83333-file_11.jpg)

Take a look at Cedar Creek. Lot of rental options. Great fishing - crappie and white bass and hybrids. I would not rule out a blue cat trip either... lot of fun to catch and great eating - right there with crappie.
Laner on this board, Lane Palmer, guides, has a couple of boats now. Look for some of his post. If you want to try the Blue cat, look up Jackie Kennedy... he is a great guide, wonderful with kids, and will put you on the fish. With the blues, never know when you will hook a big one!
Cedar Creek is a big lake, lot of options on places to stay. North end - Gun Barrel City, lot of places to eat, a Walmart and couple of other grocery stores. Also a go cart - fun park on the Seven Points side, for something else for the kids to do. Tool side is quieter, but still within a 10-15 minute drive of all you need to get by.
Good luck, have fun, stay safe!
