Not to add more money to this, but the big hulu 4k streaming thing was 50x better than my fire sticks. Worth the $100 for sure hmmm... interesting.

We just have the Roku's on every TV, subscribe to Netflix, Disney +, Sling, and ESPN + costs about $70 a month, we also get Hulu for free We are paying $179 /mo. now with Frontier FIOS, that includes the Router for Internet. I figure without the TV, it would drop to under $100. My cost would be just about the same. I do like the idea of a la carte for the TV you want to watch. Do you have Live TV OTA for local channels also?

Bob....just get the 7-day free trail for YouTube TV. If you don't like it, nothing gained-nothing lost.
It cost you nothing to install the YTTV app on your Firesticks. With your 100Mbps FiOS, it's going to work great on your Firesticks. You don't need any $100 box. You get your local channels with YTTV. You won't need an antenna for those. There's an unlimited cloud DVR with YTTV.
FYI there is no Fox Sports Southwest on YTTV right now. So no Stars, Mavs, Rangers if that is important to you.
You are not a good or nice person.

Almost ready to pull the trigger to drop the FIOS TV service. I will keep the router service though.
We already have OTA (Over the Air) service to two TVs. Two antennas up in the attic, one for each TV. And 1 FireStick for each TV. Here is the dilemma:
What is a good DVR solution that can record OTA TV AND Firestick TV programs? Do they make one that will do both?
Does anyone that has Cut the Cord already have a good DVR solution?
Thankee. We dropped cable about 18 months ago. Replaced it with YouTube TV and just about every streaming app you can imagine. We have Amazon Prime, Disney, Netflix, CBS All Access, Roku, Hulu, HBO Max, etc. saves us about $30-$50 a month. Don’t really need DVR because everything is on demand. The thing I like is it is ala carte and monthly. I’m not locked into a 2 year contract.

I installed an OTA antenna last year. I get all the local channels OTA and all the added stuff(Grit, Ant, PBS, etc and pull both Waco and Austin affiliates in. Went with Hulu Live via a ROKU box for cable channels. More sports lineups I wanted(SEC, ACC networks, FOX Sports) for $47 a month and it includes 50 some-odd hours of free cloud DVR storage. I have 100 mbs with Centurylink which is my only option here for $60 a month. Problem 1: You can't fast forward through ads on Hulu live. Problem 2: Hulu just went up $10 a month.

I can't answer your ? because I have Dish. I am just curious why you have 2 antennas in your attic. I have 1 with an amplifier and I can run 5 TVs off it. Amp has 4 outlets and I have one outlet split between 2 bedrooms.

Follow up question, if we go with YouTube TV do we need roku or fire stick? Is one better than the other? Yes and not sure on which is best but we use ROKU. I have Spectrum 200mbs and their TV packager total is $172 and includes 4 cable boxes and their WIFI router. Had tons of internet issues the first week but they seem to have fixed that and now workng as is should. From what I am seeing the price of the streaming channels are going up and losing channels such as Fox SW Sports. That is one channel I don’t want to lose. I think eventually everything will be streaming but for now it is not worth it to me to save $30-$50 per month at best. I do also have Amazon Prime and watch a ton of their programming.

Sorry .19ish We don't use either the sticks or the box now since our TVs have the apps built in. But the Roku box was so much faster than the fire stick.

We have older Samsung flatscreens that are not ‘smart’. Does the Roku box supplement non-smart TV’s capabilities? I am so ready to ‘cut the cord’ !

I screen cast all my tv from my phone. Unlimited data. Have a friend who gives me her access code to direct tv. I have prime video and Netflix also. SteamEast has nearly all the sports. Cost. $0. Except my monthly cell phone bill $50.
