Does anyone know if the new MG tour pro gps trolling motor brackets will hold the old tour model trolling motors, never hurts to carry a spare?

I replaced an older Motorguide from around 2005 to a 2019 new model the bracket holes were different. Now my buddy has a 2016 model and its the same as my 2019.

Haven't seen one up close yet but mg rep told me it will. Mount is almost same as old gator mount. Mounting holes will even match up.
Saw video Russell marine did and he says new stuff fits old tour too

That was a X5?, which BTW were junk, from what I have seen the new tour and old tour have compatible mounts.
