Yeah - I can tell you plenty about those ponds - I used to live around the corner from them. Several years ago the ponds were partially drained for construction/repair of the adjacent creek. The fish were electro-shocked, collected, and relocated to the pond near the water treatment plant in Carrollton.
I used to help 'stock' the second and third ponds with fish I caught at Roberts and Lewisville - I know it was illegal! I released 8-10 'overs' and probably more than 200 1 to 2 pounders into the ponds over the years prior to the draining. The local kids and Boy Scouts had a ball catching those fish. I released a 9.1 pounder the fall of '02 and I do not know if that fish was caught or relocated, but I did see a little girl about 6 years old catch a 7+ pounder. Man, that was a blast watching the child and the fish jump up and down on the bank.
I have since moved away and have not kept up with the progress or 'stocking' of the ponds. I think there is nothing left other than turtles and maybe a few stunted bream. Too bad - it was a neat resource for the neighborhood and the kids really got a kick out of the fishing.

I went out there yesterday and caught nothing. Yea my dad caught a 9 #'er in the third pond in 2003. In the spring, in the first and second pond, bass were spawning everywhere along the banks, along with crappie.

I live close and am walking distance from these ponds. Like GuideStriker did, I've restocked the middle pond w/bass from RR and Lewisville since they drained them a couple of years ago. There should still be a good number of keeper sized bass in the middle one....not sure about the other two. If you're ever out there and see a guy w/a big, crazy yellow lab jumping into and swimming in the middle pond....that's me and Pete...say hey...
...the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing...except post about it in the bunker.
