Have a SHO 225 that is due for it's first 100-hour service. I bought the boat in Tyler and really liked the guys at Nautical Mile (would prefer to have them do the service) BUT I live in North Dallas and don't know when I'll be able to get back out to East Texas. I had bad experiences at Plano Marine but that was several years ago. Any recommendations for best shops in North Dallas for the 100 hour service?? I have a tournament at the end of February and it would be ideal to get the boat back before then. Not sure how long the service takes or what back-log looks like these days.

I just order the 100 hour kit off Amazon and DIY. Even the impeller replacement is easy on Yamaha's. Tons of YouTube instructions on how easy it is.

Easy to do yourself. I would recommend you get the little pump to siphon the oil out of the dipstick, rather than finding and pulling the plug. Even first time, it shouldn't take over two - three hours.

I've heard that Yamaha is reluctant to honor warranty on DIY service, but that's only internet talk, I hope.

First 100 hour doesn't require impeller change so pretty easy.

Suggest you take your owner's manual and check off everything on the list. There are items other than R & R. Check them off, note date, just in case you need some proof you did.

I was busy and let my dealer do mine. Two hours shop time including the trailer recall.

I have a great dealer. We make an appointment. I bring my boat in. They jump on it. No "Drop it off, We'll get to it." I dropped mine off at 800
AM. It was done before noon.

I’ve used Plano Marin for 30 years and have been pleased.

Thanks guys. On this project I'm not really a DIY person. Easy as it may be for some. This is the first 100-hour check and I'm past warranty so I want to make sure it's done right. Also, whether it makes a difference or not, would like to have a paper trail of all services provided by a good shop so the future owner will feel more comfortable with their purchase. Plano Marine did a crappy job two or three times on some basic work (installed locker locks backwards, dropped battery charger on livewell intake, left cover off boat while waiting for repair) so I quit going to them. Then again, that was probably 10+ years ago. They are definitely the most convenient for me.

Thanks Tiltman. I totally forgot about Rockwall. They did some excellent work for me many years ago. It's 45 miles from my house which is not ideal. I just sent a note to Fun N Sun in Hurst to see if they can do the service. Never dealt with them but they are only 20 miles from my house.

Fun and Sun Hurst has done me well. Had the rocker switch conversion done as well as pump service. In and out in two days.

Boatman, what does that service run and what does it cover. I live in Sachse.
