Wouldn't be a bad idea. I'm putting mine out in 2 weeks and you're 200 miles south. Crabgrass will germinate with steady soil temps above 60, Per the Syngenta map your soil temp now is 61. And with the forecast you posted it will be climbing. What product are you using?

Two bags of barricade, one is Anderson the other one is yellow. I don't know that it matters it's all barricade.

The % of active ingredient between the two is slightly different. Split the difference and spread at 3-1/4lbs per 1000sq feet. That is a 6 month rate.

Excellent. Dandelions and Spurge(which pops later in summer) are tough mofo's. Those are the only weeds that broke though my Prodiamine barrier last year and then is was very few. That's why I added Gallery(Isoxaben) this year. Only one Dandelion next to a garden bed has broken though. Downside is Gallery in a granular is so freaking expensive, you almost can't put it in the lawn budget if used at the proper rates. On the flip side Barricade is pretty cheap and you can spot spray Dani's and Spurge with 24'D or a multitude of broadleaf weed killers. Just read the label and make sure it's covered for your type of turf and temperature restrictions and app rates.

You're my boy Bloo! LFG and kill it this year!

Not a bad idea with a 80% chance of rain on Sunday.

All DFW Lowes stores have put their Sunniland Products on clearance. Very good price.

Thanks Derek
Iโ€™ll stop by Loweโ€™s today. Iโ€™ve been too conservative with my pre (for the last two decades just followed the bag instructions). Will be a little more aggressive starting this year.

With my house and lawn now 30yo, think I need to step up my soil amendment game again. Last five years Iโ€™ve gotten a little lazy and just put down milorganite every month during the growing season (with a July/August rest)

I don't have any huge problems with Milor. It's a good product. My main issue is it doesn't have any potassium. You can source potassium though. Soil test would let you know what you needed. My last soil test I was actually low in Phosphorus so Milor with an added potassium source would have been a good route for me to go. This is a granular product I've been looking at for a while. Macros and Micros blended in. If I lived in NTX and was using a granular product this is probably the one I would be using this year at an app rate of 3-3.5lbs per 1000 for St. Aug and 6-6.5lbs per 1000 for Bermuda. The rates they list on their bag is a more aggressive rate. They are pushing 1.5lbs of Nitrogen on the first app and follow up apps at 1.25lbs every 6 weeks. Personally I would be shooting for .5-.75 on St Aug and .75-1lb on bermuda every 4 weeks. I prefer to use a little less, a little more often and keep a simple monthly schedule.
