I use a sharp pair of nail clippers. They've done me pretty well and to replace them is super cheap when they get dull.

Cheap $2 scissors from Wal-Mart Dang! They went up to $2.97.  Just bought 2 new ones. Made by Rapala. Last ones lasted a long time. Bought 2 clippers there while I was at it.

Another vote for the Boomerang Tool.  +1 Now I only use scissors for trimming jig skirts.
