That and the chinese covid should finish off most small businesses. The big stores will have to raise the cost of their products to cover $15 an hour and the huge tax increases coming from the Democrats. Guess who pays for all of that. Yep, we consumers.

Biden famously said in the New York Observer, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

Current federal and Texas minimum wage is $7.25/hr
Doubling that overnight to $15.00/hr will crush small businesses and restaurant’s payrolls!

As long as they dont mess with tipped employee exemption it wont hurt casual dining much. Outer markets that have cheaper labor typically will see massive price increases. Fast food will struggle with it and wont be so fast anymore. It will be a paradigm shift for sure. Game changer in bass section speak....

Requires Senate approval and there are a couple Dems not for it.

I'm assuming they want to do away with that exemption.

Let's see how principled these rogue dems are when the bribes start getting dangled in front of them - maybe Manchin would like a federal agency moved to West Virginia...

With 15 an hour and free healthcare, I may be a door greeter. I assume they dont have any stress to deal with at work. I mean what could they possibly have to deal with.

Woke up this morning

Don't worry, the government will be there to "help" them out. Like the pusher man doling out crack to new addicts.

We start guys out at $15/hr. All they have to do is come to work and do what they're asked, usually simple construction/demo work, no drug tests, meh on background checks. 3 weeks is probably the average folks stay.

It's going to be a mess once it's required everywhere.

Fast-casual to fast-food concepts will get whacked.
Remember, $15.00/hr becomes the new ‘floor’ starting wage.
Kitchen staff with multiple years of experience in competitive major markets will have their hands out for $17-20/hr
Your $6.00 Whataburger could easily morph into a $9-$10 burger overnight.
The tip credit allowance will need to rise also for FOH (front-of-house) tipped staff.
I pray this does not pass!
