we buy a lot of metal
direct from 1 manufacturer
we were told the problem is
Tariffs
Covid 19 shutting down plants
& a shortage of recycled metal
they are trying to mine in America
but there are issues
Biden did not cause this

it's a kill shot to our industry. can't wait for the tax increases to finish us off.  the tariffs will be lessened we will come out ahead Sorry butch, but this is way beyond your scope.

Put my detached garage on hold because of lumber prices. Now I can't consider a steel building either. Just finished ours... 50x40 with 20x40 covered patio. Ordered in july. Would cost 2X as much today for materials.

I work for a flatbed trucking company and the demand is absolutely insane since around July/August and looks to stay that way through at least Q3. We do a lot of work with the Zekelman companies too

On the scrap yard scene , They are only offering 7 cents a pound for scrap iron . Huge profit being made somewhere .

We get roughly 10-15 10k pound coils delivered here weekly. They haven't slowed down a bit.
