So I was looking up the Juvenile lake record blue cat when I was out with my grand daughter on Saturday. While I was scrolling through my phone, I saw that the current lake record for my lake (Lavon) was 48 pounds. Respectable fish especially for a juvenile. While I was there I saw the record for channel cat was 2.51 pounds. I was stunned at that because my grandson recently caught two channels that were 5.5 and 6.5 pounds and another grandson caught one that was 7 pounds.

1. the 7 pounder was caught by my oldest grandson (15) and the other two were by my 4 year old grandson.
2. what is the age limit for juvenile?
3. how do you get the weight certified and get their name in the record books. I think they would really like that.
4. what evidence do I need that THEY caught it and I didn't just catch it and say they did?

I've been poking around at TPWD and I saw this. The one issue I see is finding a certified scale. Looks like the closest one to Lavon is either Denison or Pottsboro (Texoma)

If you intend to try to catch record fish get you a set of scales and when you catch one have them certified.
