I spend some of my time researching, looking for techniques to improve my fishing. I recently read an article about ripping a lipless crank bait through the grass. Mentioned in the article was removing the front hook as it picks up more grass than the rear treble hook. Also, I've noticed that some folks remove the rear treble and replace it with a worm hook. Your thoughts on this?

Neither, just proper rod, line, reel and technique

I don’t know how you can rip it through the grass at Choke, fricking stuff hardly breaks apart in your hands and when you do rip your bait out, the hooks are fouled with ‘drilla.

Choke is our next tournament. I'll need to rip some grass and rip some lip.

Experiment with braid and or mono. Braid rips out easier and mono can keep the bait slightly higher in the water column over fluorocarbon. But...you have to adjust rods too. Braid needs a softer rod and mono needs stiffer. I like a 7'6 for lipless
