My local Whole Foods has Blue Point and Wellfleet oysters on sale for .89¢ each which is tantamount to buying brisket at .50¢ a pound

These are East Coast oysters which are not typically available in the Dallas area.

Cold beer, cocktail sauce and Saltines complete the feast

My absolute favorite oyster eating experience is to travel to my cousins house on Hood Canal in Washington. Stick some lemon wedges in my shirt pocket and a shucking knife in hand. Go wade in at low tide, pick oysters off the gravel beach, shuck, squeeze a bit of lemon juice and eat. They don't get fresher than that.
