Those of you who have experience with the mega 360. I’m torn between getting mega 360 or waiting for the live to come out. I fish mostly shallow and would love to know what’s in front and to the sides of me. That being said I love the fact that the 360 does not move views when turning the trolling motor like a live unit would. But also real time would be amazing. Not sure what to do.

On a side note, if I got both eventually Does anyone know if both could work into a single unit at the same time or if you have to have 2 separate units?

Not sure on how the live version of humminbird will look but I'll say that mega 360 is better for finding abd seeing the detail of structure while sitting still or moving slow compared to garmin livescope. Even with perspective mount. The garmin livescope is better for deeper water fishing and being able to target individual fish.

I've got Mega 360. It does a fine job of getting a perspective on where you need to go to get to the structure. For instance I dropped five brush piles in an area. I get close and I see the five piles and then steer from one to another. At times I see the fish and baitfish but commonly I am split screening a down image and the Mega 360. And on down imaging I commonly see fish easily in the brush piles. Having said that I am intrigued with live imaging and am considering a Lowrance system. But I don't think I have room for all that stuff up front. So I'd have to mount a Lowrance unit on the console.

Having used 360 for years and seen the application of Livescope, I would lean towards 360 if you spend most of your time fishing less than 10 ft deep, and picking Live imaging if you regularly fish deeper. You can see your targets and make repetitive accurate casts to submerged objects with 360, but you usually can't actually see the fish around the cover (usually). Seeing how the fish are positioned and reacting to your presentation, even checking how deep your presentation is coming through the water, is a massive advantage of Live imaging that really shines in deep open water and brush pile fishing.

I agree with outdoordude. In my opinion 360 is far more useful in shallow water than the live imaging. Some of my better fish last year were off of a random rock or laydown that I would have never seen them without the 360. Same applies to grass. You can occasionally see some fish in grass with livescope, but it certainly does not shine there. It's usually just a flash and the fish is gone. With 360 you can see the edges which can often be very useful. Out deeper the combo of 360 and live is super powerful. 360 basically gives you a road map for the brush piles and structure you want to check with the livescope.

As far as sharing live and 360 on the same graph I don't think you will be happy doing that. I do share a map screen with my 360 but I have the map set on its smallest setting. Basically just using it to help line up on a waypoint. I think you would be much happier with 2 units if you are going to use both.
