I have also taken my broken rod into Southwestern Parts and exchanged it (and my $50 bucks!) for a new rod.

Just an opinion on this, G-Loomis are excellent rods and breaking one like that would make you sick. JUST KEEP IN MIND that you can get a Hendrix Rod from Michael at www.Hendrixrods.com. He uses g-loomis blanks and builts very, very good rods and offers free replacement no matter what. I'm not sponsored or anything I pay full price, but I believe he builds dang good rods.

You can send it back with receipt for $25.00. If you do their Xpeditor route it is $50.00. 2-3 days and it is there. I have done this twice. Very easy, call and give them the type of rod and they will ship it with a return label with FEDEX. Make sure you send it back or they will charge your card the full price. Call FEDEX and schedule a pickup and they will come get it. It's really easy and painless.

You can get it a new rod at bass pro if you have the receipt, for free, as long as it is the same kind. I've done it twice before.

I bought a St Croix rod last year at Sportsman's Warehouse, broke it the next day, took it back - and was surprised to learn SW would not replace it. So, being the genius I sometimes am but mostly am not I THEN read the St Croix rod warranty (it's posted on their website as is Loomis's). I was surprised to learn St Croix and GLoomis rods - according to their written waranties - are not warrantied against breakage during normal use. In short, there IS no warranty other than what customer service may decide to give. I know I'm going to get a gazillion responses about how great their CS is but regardless - lesson learned. I no longer buy GLoomis or St Croix rods. By the way - Texas is an implied warranty state. You can make BPS replace the rod if you bought it there; you just have to lean on 'em a bit. Sportsman's Warehouse finally replaced my St Croix rod. Not happily but they did it.

With the xpeditor route, there are no questions asked. I have sent two back. No questions. No receipt. Just make sure you send the other rod back.

You will not get BPS to replace your G-Loomis even if you have a receipt. That is a G-Loomis policy not BPS policy. Again, use the Xpeditor policy from Loomis.

Most places will do the $50 replacement on GLoomis rods if they have the same model in stock. I know (for a fact, from experience) that SW Parts and Sportsman's Warehouse will. (St. Croix is another story...)
Call ahead and ask, just to be sure things havent' changed....

Sportsman Warehouse will do it. No questions asked. You give $50 and they give you a new rod.

If Sportsmans Warehouse was a little closer I think I would do it that way. Extra $$$$$ for the gas.

This is why I love using the $20.00 Rhino Indestructible rods. Caught many huge fish and never had one break on me.

I never paid anything when mine broke. One was my fault flipped a walleye in the boat. Sent it in and they mailed a new one back to me.

Nobody here is really arguing over customer service policies. How is it bad customer service if it's a rod that you admittedly broke yourself? I guess it's a sign of the times. I hope none of y'all who are advocating lying never start building your own product that eventually turns into a successful business or you'll be eaten alive by people making complaints like this.
Note: I'm with you Allen_TX_Basser.
