I thought that I had hit the motherload of crappie.
I am still learning how to interpret the images.
Pretty sure that these were just bait fish -- shad.

Very nice! Lotta bait so crappie should be near. You will be able to tell with a little separation on the sonar returns. Pretty good image for a gt52. I just upgraded to the gt 54 and have not yet got it dialed in.

Nice, likely shad based on the grouping. I've seen some good videos on Youtube by Fish The Moment on explaining fish on electronics.

Way back, I had the same thought when looking for shad.
Tossed my net, felt the thumping in the net and I knew that was my only and last throw of the day.
Could barely pull the net up back to the boat.
Full, full, full of crappie eeks Filled the boat up with crappie for the picture, and then spent the next 20 min or so scooping those boogers out of the boat and back into lake Lewisville.
