Yep. People in this forum will loose a lot of money. Ching Chong’s hidden treasure.

Currently, it's more of an investment than a currency. Most grocery stores don't accept gold. If you want groceries, you sell your gold and get some cash. If you need to dip into your Bitcoin to buy groceries, you simply sell it on an exchange where you have an account and move the money into your banking account. Eventually, Bitcoin exchanges will offer debit and credit cards so you can spend your satoshis (or dollars) anywhere just like any other card.

The BTC cards are already out there.... Visa has a division dedicated to digital

Here's the CB card - https://blog.coinbase.com/coinbase-card-launches-in-the-us-8608e72cd0b5

Cool, I hadn't seen the new coinbase card.

Thanks, I was just curious. I am too old to get into this and am already retired. Sure wish I would have bought about $10K worth of it when it was $500.00.

Scam or not. I've made profit off it more times than I can count at this point. I never hold it more than a couple days.

Here is an honest question, now I have a degree in economic and damn near a finance degree with a focus in money and banking, I understand currency. I have read all kinds of stuff and for the life of me I struggle to completely understand the concept behind this shiney piece of digital nonsense earned by solving math equations in internet la la land. The question is why would anyone invest their hard earned money in something they have zero clue about. I assume that since I cant figure it out with my background and education my wifes hair stylist who told my wife she had invested 1000 bucks in it recently has no clue. I am occasionally wrong with my predictions but I'm on the record that this will end real bad for a whole bunch of people. The herd is racing to the cliff and a bunch will go over the edge.

Warren Buffett agrees with WAWI.
This is not an investment, its a speculation on the perceived value of scarcity.
Fortunes have been made with speculation and fortunes have been lost.
With speculation, timing is everything.

I would call it the largest pyramid scheme in the history of the world. This one puts Amway to shame. At least with Amway you had toothpaste when it was over

We are printing money with no consideration for the consequences. Who is living in la la land?

I just looked and the last time I purchased Bitcoin was December 15, 2019 when it was $7,125.45 per coin. In the last 4 years of buying, I have only sold once for a small increase in my position. I agree with some of what you are saying, but I do believe it is stabilizing as Wallstreet is starting to accept it. That being said, I have always viewed it as a gamble and only invested what I could afford to lose.

You can make 10x more money trading options in 2 hours... why not just trade options instead? You could have been a multi-millionaire trading Tesla calls during 2020. Bitcoin is a hedge against the dollar... but your cashing it for USD??

I traded options with other peoples money for 7 years... you can also lose 10x more money in 2 hours

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.
