Spent the day drifting for crappie with brother. Caught our 2 man limit plus 3 smaller blue cat.

Doubt it. If they had Livescope they could just target fish instead of drifting. Probably just found an area or areas with fish on the graph, got positioned with the wind, and drifted accordingly like you would for catfish. If they just picked an area or depth willy nilly and said lets drift here, that would be a mighty impressive result.

I have customers who drift Lake Striker, It is a small lake , they just drift the deepest water available.

No just know the lake and got in 20- 22 fow and go with the wind . Had two hooks on my line one right off bottom and one about 18 to 24 inches above it. Was fishing with minnows

That’s how we fish this time of year on LOP. We use drift socks to control the drift.. no faster than .7 mph and you’ll be able to keep a 3/4oz bell weight on the bottom. Very easy and can catch limits very quickly. Like the OP said, lots of fish hang out in the flats off the river in 18-25’
