Righties who use left handed reels.

I'm a lefty and always use right handed reels.

I guess it is what you are raised with. I'd be curious to know when left handed baitcasting reels first came out. Which was first?

How weird would it be for someone who casts left handed to switch and then reel left handed?

I've never even heard of someone who does that, but the bulk of the fishing world does just that (the switching hands with right handed reels).

LH retrieve reels SHOULD be for people who cast right handed, and vice versa.

I've never even thought about it! I'm a righty & use all right handed reels. Been doing it for so long I didn't even realize I had to switch hands. Makes perfect sense for me to use a left handed reel, I use my left hand to reel when using a spinning rod so getting use to it shouldn't be a problem........thats it, I'm buying a left handed reel!!

I throw with my right, punch with my right but I write with my left. Use the left hand to retrieve because........it just feels right. I just can't reel with my right hand and its just the way I grew up doing it no particular rhyme or reason to it.

I started fishing with spinning rods which got me used to left handed retrieve. My baitcasters all have LH retrieve for the same reason as most others posted, so I don't have to switch hands.
