Besides the error in handling his motorcycle, a quality set of leathers would saved him any injury. Leathers work pretty well at two or three times that speed. But, at least he had a helmet. Luck was on his side. My motto has always been. Dress for the crash, not for the weather.

I lost a good friend in a bike-deer accident. He was in Colorado doing 60 mph when a mule deer jumped out of the ditch and hit him right in the chest. He never knew what hit him. No matter how safe you try to be bikes are dangerous.

False advertisement...thought the guy was going to “fly” off the bike... all he did was lay it over and slide. If he had the right clothes on he probably barely even got any road rash.

No matter how safe you try to be bikes are dangerous. Had a similar patient about 4-5 years ago. I think an antler pierced his chest.

I won't leave the city limits around here on my bike after dark. Wife's hit 2 in cars. I have LED auxiliary lights on my bike they really light up the sides of the road. Plus I'll drive a bit under the speed limit in the sticks just in case.
