I want to get into fly tying. I’m not a fly fisherman but i would like to try and make my own jigs and buck-tails. So I was wondering what fly tying tools do I need? confused

The way to a fisherman’s heart, is thru his fly!

Big: I think it might be hard to tie if ya never see 'em hit what ya tie. But, tools, and there will be others with thoughts,
Starter Kit:
Vise, of course
Scissors
Bobbins, at least two, ceramic
Bodkin
Bobbin threading tool
Whip finisher
Hackel pliers
Hair Stacker

Thanks and Gig'em, Mark Fairchild

Mark summed it up nicely. All I'd add would be that a starter kit from Cabelas or Bass Pro would be a good way to start off. Build from there.

I don't know about Cabella's, but BPS gives free fly tieing lessons. It's a good place to pick up the basics. You can apply these basics to dang near anything.
It's not as hard as it looks, but if you hit a dead end on your own don't get discouraged. I still have my very first fly stuck in the brim of on of my fishing hats. Quite ugly actually, but gratifying just the same
If ya get stuck you can always ask here, or heck, drop me a P.M. and I'll talk ya through it.
