What is the best cold weather footwear y’all have found to wear during the winter? Was thinking about a pair of deck boots, or waterproof hunting boots. Any suggestions?

I have 3 options although 1 I just got and havent used yet. I have a cheap pair of snow boots from academy that I put some decent insoles in that i have used for really cold weather and can add toasty toes for more warmth. My other option is just tennis shoes with the heavy smart wool socks. The snow boots are good but they tend to make my feet sweat and that leads to cold feet later on. I fished a couple weeks ago with temps starting in the low 30s in the tennis shoes and heavy wool socks and never even thought my feet were cold. Which is suprising because i cant stand cold feet so i would have noticed. Now, for Christmas i got some rubber deck boots, xtra tuf is the brand. I also put some good insoles in those. I will be trying them in a week or so

I don't wear insulated just wool socks. But I do wear goretex bates military style boots. If I needed insulated I'd go with columbia powderhorn titanium.

How cold are we talking here? Are you talking Texas cold or are you talking proper northern cold? For Texas I have a pair of Gore-Tex north face shoes that are water proof. There isn't any real insulation in them, so I just adjust the thickness of my wool socks according to the temp.

Under Armor Stormer boots. The best I’ve used so far. They aren't Gore-Tex, but are warm and guaranteed water proof. So far, in about 8 months of use, my feet stay warm and completely dry. The boots are pretty light weight too, feel like cross trainers when wearing them.

I am new to owning a boat and starting to tourney fish this January and don’t want to get cold out on the water.

Xtratuf. The most comfortable shoe of any kind that I have, better than any tennis shoe. They're neoprene, 100% waterproof and I can put on any sock and my feet never get cold. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/12/full-44657-79008-img_2416.png)

Looked at the the ones advertised at BP. Only show certain sizes, none of which would fit. Reviews seem to show they run a tad small. My regular shoe size is 9D, they show an 8D then the next is 11D.

Bought some Arctic Shield boot covers years ago that fit over tennis shoes that work real well. You can't break dance with them but they work.Looks like the newer ones are bigger.

I like the Muck Boots....warm, tall, and waterproof. I wear a thick pair of socks or wool socks and I'm good to go.
I also have a pair of North Face winter boots when I need more traction.
