gatorgar just brought something to mind (in a different post)I've been wanting to ask. This will really be my first summer on the lake so I am still learning it. (I had my travel trailer at Tawakoni from last August on but I couldn't get the boat off of Grapevine to take it over until March. The ramps on Grapevine were all closed or to low.) Some of the best hybrid fishing on Cedar Creek is done under the dock lights at night. Does anyone do this on Tawakoni? During the summer months 80% of my fishing is at night from 11 PM to 6 AM. What's the best way to get into hybrids/stripers during those times on Tawakoni? I don't normally use live bait and I don't normally keep the fish unless I damage them. (The freezer's already full of catfish, crappie, hybrids and sandies caught in March and April. Hopefully I won't have to clean fish again until it cools off in the fall.) I have nothing against using live bait I just don't like to mess with it. Would I be better off dusting off the old cast net for night fishing? Any help would be appreciated. Or if anyone wants to give lessons out of my boat I am sure that could be arranged. Kevin

Not that many docks on Tawakoni. I've fished at night but only used live bait near the dam and over near the Dallas pump station and did not have much luck. I know there is a lot of catfish caught at night. I've wanted to try anchoring out from the dam near the stripe with shad or black salty's but have never got around to it.
The lake is looking good but watch out around the trees. With the lake rising a lot of the trees are just barely sticking out of the water.

If I were going to night fish Tawakoni for stripes, I'd do it on the full moon. Improves your chances.
I'd pull big Redfins sloooooowwwwwwwwly across the surface around The Woods, especially the area out from the Wolf hump...

Couple of weekends ago me and two other guys pulled in over 100 sandbass,Hybrids and some catfish & drum . 95% of the fish where sandbass and hybrids. All these fish where caught at night from around 12:00 am till 5:00 am on Minnows in about 10 feet of water under the 2 mile bridge. We where about 1/4 a way down from where the bridge goes over the water from the boat ramp. I am not sure how deep it was where we fished. If I could take a guess it must of been around 30 feet.
