Finally rented a slip at a Lewisville marina (not 121). How do I set it up to crappie fish during the winter months? Water is 21 ft. Any advice appreciated.
Thanks, Mike

Drop in some brush but make sure there is plenty room for fish to move among the branches.

HANG SOME CEDAR TREES ABOUT 8' DOWN TO THE TOPS. drop a few to the bottom. I have good luck hanging old plastic chairs. They never rot and hold fish very good. Call me if you need more info. I've been doing this for decades. (SOME SAY CENTURIES)

We tie three 5'-7' cedar trees together in a line, put bricks at the bottom and tie off to the slip, so we have cover from 5' to 21' feet as the fish will move up and down.

Do whatever Ernest says, I fish his slip all the time when he is not there I used PVC Tree and recently sank a bamboo tree and getting great results right now.

After you get brush in put out some bait to bring in the baitfish. Do it like this :Go to feed store and buy hog and sow pellets. Get a laundry bag or red onion sacks (some kind of bag with fine holes) and put a rock in the sack and fill with pellets. Tie a cord on the sack and sink about 8 feet deep. This will bring in small baitfish to feed on the pellets which in turn will bring in crappie. Do Not put bag on bottom, Feed usually lasts about a week or so. pull it up, replace bag and put back,

Thanks for all the info. The marina management seems to be really down on the natural brush. I do have a lot of PVC and poly pipe though. I'm sure I can come up with something. I'll have to try this plastic chair idea out for sure. Anybody using lights for night fishing?
Thanks for all of the replies.

Brush is all you need to draw crappie in. JMO

If you want to night fish get some solar spot light and put them shining down on the water. Lights will ring the minnows and crappie and other game fish will follow.

Do it enough to get the crappies coming in and quit. Start back if they leave.
