Liberal choice for a liberal city.

Who ever is in charge of the DPD doesn't seem to like police very much, whether it be the mayor or city manager

I do not believe even Renee Hall had a chance of proving herself with that crazy city council, mayor and city manager.

She tried to please everybody which never works. If she focused on crime, she would probably still be on the job.

Extremely tough job. Wish him and the rest of the DPD well.

The job is incredibly difficult. Very political and many masters to placate, cutting funds on one hand and demanding better results on the other.

Glad they hired from within. There are several well qualified guys on the force. Hope the city council, mayor, and city manager give him a chance and support what they do instead of arm chair quarter backing. From previous history, there's little chance of it. A big problem in Dallas - No one works together. Too many private agendas. Trinity River project is a good example - dirt should be moving on that by now.

From the news report I saw, it appeared he was from Dallas. If not, I take everything back. He doesn't have a chance!

Race IS THE REASON HE WAS HIRED. I don't care what color his skin is or where he is from, but the politically correct politicians ONLY CARE what his race is or what his skin color is. That is why so many police chiefs in large cities fail - they are hired for reasons other than their qualifications.
