What I know it's hit or miss, but mostly early and late in the day We got in a school of them yesterday morning. Spotted a group of gulls going after the shad, pulled up as close as we could to the school, started throwing jerkbaits which we had tied on one of the rods. They started slamming the baits hard. Ended up with about 5 real nice keepers all around 3 lbs each. It was over fast but we just threw the fish in the bottom of the boat and kept on chunking and reeling. If you run into a school like we did, you got to keep that lure in the water as much as possible. Whole experience lasted about 2 minutes and then they were gone. Was a lot of fun though.
