After watching Roland fish at the CAST for kids event I’d say he’d give those young uns a run for their money. The man is a machine! Give him a Legends exemption, BASS live needs some “Son!” cheers

For one of the legends of BASS fishing and arguably one of the greatest anglers to ever live he should have an open invite to fish any time he wants to! cheers

I knoe any time I could get any of the Legends to show up I would welcome them! rock

I think all nine time Anglers of the Year should be allowed to fish any time and anywhere they want.

I think people will like seeing him back, I don’t think he has a prayer at being competitive though.

He is 80, and will he be able to get the vaccine before the season starts?

Roland will find that the rules have changed since he fished BASS. No more guide or locals helping. But in the end he still knows how the find a fish or two on his own and should do OK.

So what about Jimmy Houston and Bill Dance. They should let all of them 80 year olds fish!

What is the repeated "he is not who you think he is" comment about? I know he turns a lot of the guys off who have over inflated fishing purist views, but his record speaks for itself, and I know his funny over the top excitement about fishing helped fuel my desire to fish as a kid. I personally dont get to fish as much as I would like, so I watch every tournament on TV that I possibly can. I would love to see him fish.

I'm guessing it has to do with his info gathering tactics in the past but there were no rules against it and he worked the system to his advantage

His YouTubes crack me up. His enthusiasm for fishing after all these years is incredible.

I saw one video yesterday that was shot three years ago. Roland and another guy were in Scott's boat in a Florida swamp. This was Scott's big boat with the 250 on it. They were driving through mud, inches of water, reeds, and other stuff that I wouldn't consider trying to go through. At times they got out and pushed the boat. It was on Roland's 77th birthday. I thought they were all crazy, but maybe fearless is the right word.

During a bass university seminar a couple of years ago, Roland spent the first several minutes complaining about tournament expenses and how sponsors wouldn't give him $80,000 to fish the elites through legends exemption. Even if he gets the exemption, he seems to believe he shouldn't have to pay anything out of pocket.
