I had been waiting for you to do this video. Thanks! A little surprised a crankbait didn’t make your list.

Nice video James, much appreciated! I would be interested in a video of your dropshot techniques if you ever decided to share. Everyone seems to have their own take on it from equipment to rigging and presentation.

James,
Really enjoy following you on your videos. In addition to your excellent bait choices, I've been using a jerk bait retrieve lately with a swim bait and 1/8 ounce weighted hook and have been getting whacked hard with that presentation. Seems to be a go to for me this time of the year. Keep your great instructional videos coming. I really like the jig skipping video. Very informative. God Bless and good luck.

Nice video James, much appreciated! I would be interested in a video of your dropshot techniques if you ever decided to share. Everyone seems to have their own take on it from equipment to rigging and presentation. I agree, there are a lot of different ways to rig up and fish the drop shot. Keep in mind it is just presenting your bait above the weight. Many view it only as a light line technique fished with a light action spinning rod and reel with 6-8 pound test line and a nose hooked bait. That works but that is not the only way to set it up and fish it. A lot of your set up depends on what you like, and the cover or structure you are going to fish. You can cast it out and fish it or drop it straight down below the boat if you are marking fish on your depth finder. I use a bait caster for fishing a drop shot. I use a 1/4 oz drop shot weight most of the time unless I am punching the holes in grass, then I use a 3/8 weight. I use a #1 or 1/0 Owner rigging hook for finesse worms, and an Owner 2/0 wide gap for trick worms and ribbon tail worms. For Power drop shotitng I use 50-65# braid, a 4/0 wide gap hook and a 1/2-1 oz. weight.
