Not true. There are a lot of rods brands that work very well for throwing a football head jig and some are more sensitive than the Power Tackle rod. Power tackle rods are bullet proof as far as durability but not as sensitive as some other brands.

As you have noticed by now there a number of rods that will do the job and do the job well. It’s going to be a matter of your budget from here. Personally I use the Cara Amistad.

how are the power tackle rods weight wise? The football jig special I felt at Fun and Sun was surprisingly heavy for the price.

I love the NRX for dragging Football jigs and C - Rigs, they are super sensitive. To me that is the most important aspect, those big fish don't usually hit hard, they just suck the bait in and spit it out quick... Plus fishing around stumps, it helps prevent getting hung up as often if you can feel the difference.

Some of you boys have expensive tastes in rods. More power to you on buying $500+ rods.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

Shimano Zodias is a pretty good rod for the money.

I agree 100%. My Zodias is my go to pitching rod. I think it's more sensitive than my IMX rods, pretty close or equal to a GLX and for the entry price of only a couple hundred bucks. While I do enjoy my NRX, if they were stolen/destroyed I'd replace them with Zodias or maybe even some of the Lew's rods.
