Take the kids to the animal shelter and ask them if they would like to donate to help the animals instead of getting much for Christmas

I have no clue. the spousal unit handles all gifts and charities. I am just as surprised as the kids @ Christmas.

Iโm using an app this year to keep track of everything. Plus itโs nice cause I can share it with the wife and she can adjust it as well. Comes in handy with the 8 hour time difference.

4 grandkids, 9,8,7 and 5 did something different this year. They made a wish list back in October, in store and online, and then all of us were able to purchase those gifts ahead of time without duplication. All gifts are bought and wrapped and we spent on average $250-$300 per grandchild. Adult kids get $100 bill from parents and grandparents.

2 girls. Easily spend 400-500ea. Oldest wants some lulu lemon leggings. Never heard of them until last Saturday. They're $100 a pop. For dadgum leggings. Girls are high freaking maintenance.

For the older one last Christmas, I spent probably $4-500 on stuff, but the majority was on a ride-on battery powered vehicle. The other two idiots are too young to know or care. I think at some point it's going to be a limit of $200 or so each kid. The only problem is one was born December 23 and the other on December 26, so I'm not sure how long I can get away with that once they get old enough. I remember never getting presents from my parents, it was usually just new socks, some clothes and whatever else I needed. I had to wait for actual presents from my other family members.
One grandma spends $50ea, the other who knows the budget, and the grandpa has no limit. One year it could be a gun for a 2yo kid, or a vintage restored ride on jeep, or whatever he finds in his closet.

I had a chemical flashback and remember a conversation my wife was having about Costco having the same supplier as lulu melon.

About same, Christmas $200-250. Birthdays $50 gift card. When I retire in couple of years it'll be just a card.

About $300-$400 per kid normally, and mine are 6 and 10. Sometimes one big present will make that number bigger, but that means less smaller ones. This year they're getting a go-kart that I redid, so they won't get much else. But it'll be more than $300-$400 per kid.
