Picked up a Ninja Foodi Smart Grill last week. Did a load of Buffalo Wings day one. Outstanding! Used the temp probe last night for grilled pork chops, perfect again. Cooks fast, no mess and is easy to clean.

The term air fryer is misleading. It doesnt fry it bakes with air circulation. Its a convection oven. A toaster oven set on convection does the same thing. Actually better because the food is on a pan and cooks more evenly. A toaster oven has an element on top and on bottom An airfryer has only one elent on top Plus a toaster oven holds more food and is way cheaper.

While I agree to an extent, our air fryer cooks considerably faster than our convection toaster oven.

https://smile.amazon.com/Ninja-Dehy...+air+fryer&qid=1606764275&sr=8-1I use this, dont use my bbq anymore except for burgers. Steaks come out soooo good w a little brown sugar on them, same with bacon etc. It can fit two real big steaks etc, Ive never found a need for a deeper one, I only cook steaks, fries, chicken wings bacon etc. Steaks take about 3 min a side if you want to flip them etc it cooks all the way around without flipping due to the grill plate design etc. Whatever the no stick material is it really works good. Burgers seal up in it and the grease gets trapped so havent tried them again.

So you guys got me interested with this thread. I used the convection oven option on the kitchen stove For the first time. All done at one time. Not 3 pieces at a time ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/12/full-19707-75997-20201130_184302_film3.jpg)

Let's see if I can fact check better than Facebook and Twitter. The term air fryer is misleading. It doesnt fry it bakes with air circulation. Its a convection oven. A toaster oven set on convection does the same thing. Actually better because the food is on a pan and cooks more evenly.
Disagree - it cooks better when the air can hit the top and bottom of the food. The food in the air fryer is on a pan, it just has holes in it. I don't even need to flip food in the air fryer. A toaster oven has an element on top and on bottom An airfryer has only one elent on top Misleading - The circulation of air ensures that food cooks evenly. Dual elements is irrelevant. The fan in the air fryer is a lot stronger and mine is 1700 watts. It gets hot and gets hot fast. How many watts is your toaster oven? Twice the elements doesn't mean twice the power or heating ability or ability to cook evenly. Plus a toaster oven holds more food and is way cheaper. Mixed - The toaster oven does hold more food but more food is not always needed. They are also not much, if any cheaper. You can spend a little or a lot on both and both have their place imo.
