salmon fishing at the artificial fishing hole on the Homer,Alaska spit.....the spit is a narrow 4 1/2 mile peninsula jutting out in Kachemak bay. In 1984, the Alaska Game and Fish people dredged a "fishing hole" (approx. 50X200 yards) and each year stock it with salmon fry who migrate out into the ocean for several years then come back to the fishing hole when they are ready to spawn.....

Yep. Looks like any trout stocked Texas place in the winter. That's cool the salmon know exactly where to come back to.

Glad I didn't have to go back to Lubbock in order to spawn.

when I was a kid in east Tenn. the stripers would run up the rivers each spring....people from a 2-3 state area would be shoulder to shoulder for miles along the Holston river....
