Whitt Smith has been catching some big fish at night around lighted docks. Other than that it has been slooooooooooooowwww..

To give you an idea of how the fishing has been at Fork. Six of the Top Ten anglers in the world failed to catch a limit of 14 inchers all four days during the last BASS event there.

Yes, young Patrick Walters discovered a bounty of unpressured suspended fish but when some of the top anglers in the world catch TWO FISH in Two Days on Fork it is a pretty good indicator of how tough it has been. Keep in mind these are not weekend warriors.

Fished Monday and caught 3 around 2 lbs on CR flukes in 15-20 fow and missed a few others. Went shallow in the back of creeks on Tuesday and caught 2 nice slots on chatterbait and missed several others. Wind was cranking late morning to the mid afternoon. Went back deep late in the day and put a few more dinks in the boat. In all had around 10 fish in two full days of at least 6 hours on the water. Except for this year and last year, in years past, the week of thanksgiving has been off the chain for fish shallow and deep. Bite is extremely tough right now on fork. Yeah I even threw stick baits on points and in one select pocket just to see. Lol.

Exactly......Ken

A big part of the problem at Fork is that they killed off most of the grass, and bass thrive in grass. Back in the day, Fork was awesome because it had a lot of grass in it and you could catch numbers as well as big ones. Killing off grass has hurt many lakes but they don't ever seem to learn from their mistakes.

We were there last week, caught 3 or 4 everyday on a dropshot but nothing more than a couple lbs. Caught a huge crappie on a flutter spoon.

I was there the day before Thanksgiving. Fished from 530pm till 200am. Caught 9 fish total. Three over six pounds and one fish 5. The rest were smaller. Very aggressive bite and I believe it's only going to get better.

I was out there last week for a couple of days. They both were a grind, but the second day much more than the first. First day caught 12. in the backs of creeks, putting the boat in the drain and throwing shallow to grass or timber. Did catch one 6 lb'er. Second day, only 4 fish nothing over a couple of pounds.

Sad but true, they killed the grass and bye bass... I saw the spraying grass and really pissed me off, but there was nothing I could do, water for Dallas is more important, must get used to it
