Do they use ferry's much on the Miss?

there are several on the upper Miss. river...this particular one in Cassville exists because there is no bridge in Cassville to cross the river...nearest bridge to the north is approx 30 miles north and south of Cassville,closest bridge is 26 miles...lower Miss river south of St. Louis there are no ferries until you get to south Lousiana....bridges across the lower Miss. river are 80 miles or more apart...be nice to have a ferry every 20 miles or so but.probably too expensive to put in because you would have to build a road system up and over the levees and out to the river plus the Miss. river level fluctuates so much you would have to have a loading apparatus to deal with that...
