I brined my turkey overnight in some 2 gringos brand bird bath brine. Am I supposed to rinse my brine off before I put it on the smoker?

Yes, rinse it off, inside and out.

I just drained it well, applied rub and covered in cheese cloth. Not sure how well this trick works. It’s on the smoker now. We shall see.

If you're going to apply a rub, I would've sprayed it off with the hose, could make it a little salty. I'm sure it'll be fine though. I don't put a rub on mine, I just take it out the brine and pat it dry, then into the big easy.

Looks like it’s a spilt decision, pat dry and apply the rub is what I’m going with.

Rinse quickly
Pat dry
Put in fridge for an hour uncovered to dry the skin out some more.

Nope. Brine needs to be rinsed off.

Dry brine is easier. But yes rinse it off. And for those who may not know....when you buy a turkey look to see if it's in a salt brine already. No reason to double it argue

Brined for 12 hours in Bird Bath.
Patted dry. Rubbed with olive oil, garlic powder and black pepper.
325 for 4.5 hours (was a 20lb turkey)
Smoked over pecan and cherry.
Was absolutely incredible.
